The Basics

Connecting your LinkedIn account

5min

You can connect your LinkedIn account to send LinkedIn InMails through Pin and sync your communication with candidates.

Note: Installing the Pin Chrome extension is required to connect your LinkedIn account. You can install the Pin Chrome extension here: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/pincom-recruiting-ai-auto/infcaknhippabnplinmgidmjojcbkijd

To connect your LinkedIn account, go to Settings > Connected Accounts and click "Connect LinkedIn Account". If you're already logged into LinkedIn in your browser, Pin will automatically connect to that LinkedIn account. To connect a different LinkedIn account to Pin, log out of your current account, then sign in with the correct LinkedIn account you want to use.

To connect your LinkedIn account:

  1. Go to User & Team Settings.
  2. Select "Connected Accounts".
  3. Click "Connect LinkedIn Account".
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the connection.

Add a LinkedIn message to your Outreach sequence

You can include a LinkedIn message in your Outreach sequence by selecting one of the following options:

  1. "Send LinkedIn Message automatically" – A LinkedIn message will be sent automatically when a candidate reaches this step in the Outreach sequence.
  2. "Send LinkedIn Message manually from queue" – A LinkedIn message will be added to your queue for manual review and sending when a candidate reaches this step in the Outreach sequence.

Note: You can send LinkedIn InMails from Pin using any LinkedIn account type—including the free version, Sales Navigator, Premium Career, Premium Business, Recruiter Lite, and Recruiter Professional.

Note: When you send a LinkedIn message through Pin, the exchange will sync to your Pin inbox starting with the initial LinkedIn message sent through Pin.

  • If the candidate is a 1st degree connection, it counts as a regular LinkedIn message.
  • If the candidate is not a 1st degree connection, it will use one of your LinkedIn InMail credits.

We recommend checking if the candidate is a 1st-degree connection before messaging to avoid using InMail credits unnecessarily. You can review LinkedIn's guide here on how InMail credits work:
